Tiivistelmä
Diplomityöni aiheena on lounaissuomalainen saaristolaiskylä.
Uudempaa arkkitehtuuria edustaa ahvenanmaalaisen Folke Wikströmin saaristoon suunnittelemat rakennukset.
Historian ja maiseman tarkastelu on keskeinen perusta uuden saaristokylän suunnittelulle. Suunnitelmani koheena on Uudenkaupungin pohjoispuolella oleva Pyhämaan Kettelin kylä. Tavoitteenani oli suunnitella alueelle uudenaikainen saaristolaiskylä yhteisrantoineen. Rakentamisen rytmi on lähtöisin perinteestä, mutta toteutus on nykypäivää. Pyrin ottamaan suunnittelussa huomioon kestävän kehityksen periaatteet. /Kir10 The subject to my work is an archipelago village situated in the South Western Finland. I handle the subject by the aspect of tradition as well as by the aspect of present.
I look at the present factors influencing the land use and construction of the coastal environment by the light of national and EU-politics and the reports of the Regional Environment Centre. The climate change and the idea of sustainable building, including the wind power, are the subjects affecting the future construction.
I give some examples of the traditional archipelago building and landscape and present a few coastal villages and their historical development as well as the present day. Architect Folke Wikström (Åland) works are an example of the modern day archipelago architecture
The analysis of the cultural history and landscape is the basis to the actual plan of a new archipelago village situated to the north of town Uusikaupunki. My goal is to plan a modern day village with houses and collective waterfront. The rythm of the plan is laying on the tradition, but the realization is up to date. I take in consideration the principles of the sustainable development.
