The thesis explored the evolving landscape of food safety management through the lens of blockchain traceability by overviewing the complex concepts of food safety management and the use of the decentralized and transparent system of blockchain. The study further assessed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with integrating blockchain technology into the food safety management system through the insights of industry professionals. The study paper emphasized the potential of real-time data accessibility, enhanced transparency, and supply chain efficiency offered by blockchain while delving into the challenges of implementation costs, scalability, and industry resistance.
By navigating a variety of sources, the thesis analyzed the potentials and challenges of a future where blockchain traceability could become integral to ensuring the safety and transparency of the food supply chain, creating trust among stakeholders, and meeting the need and demand for transparency from consumers.
