Nowadays it is common for businesses to be present in digital form. Therefore, entrepreneurs need to gear up for competing in both the physical world and the world of the internet. SEO has become a popular marketing tool for increasing brand awareness and visibility among internet users. The practice supports a brand to stand out from the crowd by providing both an organic and paid approach. By obtaining more than 90% of the market, Google has become a top-notch company that is popularly recognized for its internet surfing service. In the scope of the thesis, the author mainly explores and researches the usage of Google Engine for an in-deep understanding.
This thesis aims to reveal what SEO is and its followed strategy to ensure the top position on the result page. The thesis starts by examining how Google Engine ranks different pages for the same query. Later, highlighting the testify strategies that worked to support a page to stand out compared to their competitors. The thesis is written with the purpose of becoming a reference material for people curious about the basics of SEO and its practices. In the writing process, reputable blogs & online articles have been touched as the primary research material besides one SEO published book.
The research paper is split into three different parts. The first part presents the history of search engines and how Google manages to thrive at the top tier of the market position. The second part concludes with basic technical knowledge of SEO and guaranteed strategies for top-tier ranking in the search result. The last part reflects SEO's learning from different case studies to provide insight concerning practical SEO action.
