Lisäksi yksi liiketalouden perustutkintoa opiskeleva opiskelija on osallistunut osana opintojaan verkkosivujen uudistamistyöhön. This thesis is a task for the development of an online social service in Finland. The online service provides tools to support a child in situations where the child has lost a loved one. Until now, the online service has been mainly a blog, but its maintainer and the person in charge of this development task, master of sociology, plans to make the online service and its continuous development more customer-oriented in the future.
The target group of the services and materials is people working with children, such as early childhood education staff, teachers and also families who need to support the child in grief and who need more tools to do so. There is little reference material and tools for professionals in Finland, which the founder of the blog herself has noticed over the years. Corona era has also brought a lot of questions to both children and those who work with them, so the entrepreneur has already brought material to the site about that topic.
The starting points for this development task are the aspects of design thinking, service design and customer orientation. A small-scale customer survey (n = 4) was conducted on the website for those who had already used the service in the spring of 2021. The feedback received from the survey from the target group was utilized in the further development of the materials.
This development task is complementary to the thesis, not a complete thesis. The development task has been integrated into the courses of the service business development degree program, such as service development, service design, and digital service development. In addition, one student studying for a bachelor's degree in business administration has participated in the website renewal work as part of her studies.
