Tiivistelmä
The report reflects 10 weeks of work during my trainee at Microsym company on Azure DevOps and project management. The observation period was from 08.02.2021 to 16.04.2021. My daily work covers various topics such as code automation, continuous delivery, configuration management, scripting and project management. Microsym is planning to use Azure DevOps for their projects, which will allow them to integrate development and project management in one tool. The overall objective is to improve development speed, reduce time to market, enhance collaboration between the teams and increase customer satisfaction.
The aim of the trainee is to test and document Azure DevOps functionalities and other kinds of tools in order to ease the migration in the company. Such an initiative can create important cultural changes in companies by modifying the way developers, testers and system administration work together during the development and delivery processes. In this thesis you will experiment the process and the challenges related.
At the beginning of my trainee, I had a simple idea of what DevOps concepts were and I had no practical experience. Through these 10 weeks, I come across various topics and tools that allow me to build a stronger comprehension and skills. The experience described in this thesis can provide an introduction to the world of DevOps with concrete use cases and exercises for anyone who is interested in learning more about the topic.
The thesis was written in 12 weeks in the diary format, it allows to have an inside on my daily tasks and way of thinking when handling them. The weekly analysis provides theoretical and technical explanations of concepts met during the week, along with a review and justification of my choices made considered on different points of view.
