Tiivistelmä
Supermarket- varaston tarkoituksena on toimia tuotannossa eri tuotantovaiheiden välissä takaamassa materiaalien saatavuus vaikeasti ennustettavan kysynnän vallitessa. Tavoite on palvella varaston käyttäjän materiaalitarpeita niiden esiintyessä. Käyttö perustuu itsepalveluperiaatteeseen ja siten tuotannon imuun. Toimeksiantajayritys Carinafour operoi kyseisen mallin pohjalta sovellettua varastoa tuotannon alihankkijayritykselleen Meyer Turun telakalla.
The purpose of a supermarket warehouse is to secure the availability of materials in production, where consumption is difficult to estimate. The objective is to serve the users’ need of materials when they occur. Usage is based on their self-service and therefore pull of production. The thesis is commissioned by Carinafour, who is operating applied model of such warehouse in the Meyer Turku Shipyard for their subcontractor.
The objective for this thesis was to develop supermarket’s interfaces and operating models. In order to develop them, theory regarding Toyota Production System, Lean, warehousing and supermarket model was examined. Present condition was established using interviews, questionnaire and the writer’s personal observations made at the supermarket. In addition, present selection was analysed based on picking data. Based on research on present condition, problems that were suspected in the beginning were confirmed and new ones were identified. With analysis on picking data some materials that should not be in the selection were identified.
Using the examined theory, a supermarket concept with updated operating models and interfaces was developed. Development suggestions were provided based on comparison between the updated model and present condition. In addition, new key performance indicators were formulated and guide for users and logistic worker were written.
