Tiivistelmä
Climate change is the most crucial challenge currently faced by humankind and the transition from traditional to renewable energy is seen as the solution. This thesis aims to bring attention to what the author believes to be the most important economic aspects to consider in the European Union regarding the shift towards a renewable energy future.
The hypothesis proposed by the author is that renewable energy price competitiveness, stranded assets and carbon leakage are ultimate aspects to consider when switching to a fully renewable energy system in the European Union.
