Tiivistelmä
Efficiency maps of each component are often required in system simulations. One method to produce efficiency maps for induction motors is presented here. Electric motors efficiency calculations require several input parameters. Sometimes electric motors efficiency map is needed, and the only known input value is the required shaft power. Therefore, it was developed a method, which needs only shaft power value and rated efficiency value from motors name plate.Of course, the accuracy of the map will be low, as the loss computation results are dependent on input data amount and quality. However as compared to measurements of 3 induction motor, the loss maps are in most speed/torque points in the range of +/10% and below 2% near the rated speed. This accuracy is sufficient in cases as the electric motor acts as one part of a large system simulation.
