Tiivistelmä
Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli toteuttaa helposti saavutettavia selkokielisiä hartausvideoita kehitysvammaisille. Lähtökohtana työlle oli Länsi-Porin seurakunnan tarve kehitysvammatyön materiaalille. Opinnäytetyö on kehittämispainotteinen. Tavoitteena oli tehdä mahdollisimman saavutettavia hartausvideoita
seurakunnan työntekijöiden työn tueksi. Videot tekstitettiin ja niissä käytettiin tukiviittomia saavutettavuuden vahvistamiseksi.
Kehittämistyön aihetta on pohjustettu keskeisten käsitteiden avulla. Keskeisiksi
käsitteiksi valikoituivat saavutettavuus, kehitysvammaisuus ja hartaus. Yhteistyön alussa oli jo selvää, että tuotos tehdään videomuotoon, sillä vallitsevan koronatilanteen vuoksi seurakunnan vierailut olivat kielletty. Videomateriaalia seurakunta pystyi käyttämään etäyhteyksin.
Prosessi aloitettiin suunnitelupalaverilla yhteistyökumppanin ja viittomakielentulkin kanssa. Palaverissa ideoitiin videoiden aiheet. Työssä on liitteenä valmiit videot ja niiden käsikirjoitukset. Videot lähetettiin yhteistyökumppanin käyttöön. Videoista saatu palaute oli positiivista. Rakentavana palautteena oli huomio tekstityksen ryhmittelystä.
Opinnäytetyöprosessi osoitti, että tällaiselle materiaalille on tarvetta. Valmis materiaali helpottaa seurakunnan työntekijöiden työtä, sekä madaltaa kynnystä yhteistyöhön kehitysvammaisten parissa The purpose of this thesis was to create easily accessible plain language
devotional videos for people with intellectual disabilities. The premise of this
thesis was the Western Pori Church’s need for material to be used in their work
with people with intellectual disabilities. This thesis is development focused. The
goal was to make as accessible devotional videos as possible for church
employees to work with. The videos were subtitled, and sign-supported speech
was used in them to make them more accessible.
The basis for this development-focused thesis was constructed with key
concepts. The key concepts for this thesis were accessibility, intellectual disability
and devotion. At the beginning of the cooperation, it was already clear that the
output of the project was going to be in a video format, because of the Covid-19
restrictions at the time that prohibited church visits. The church was able to use
the video footage remotely.
The process was started with a planning meeting with the partner and a sign
language interpreter. Video topics were brainstormed in the meeting. The finished
videos and the scripts of the videos are presented as attachments in this thesis.
The videos that were made were sent for our partner to use. The feedback for
the videos was positive. Constructive feedback was received about the need to
pay attention to the arrangement of the subtitles.
The process of this thesis showed that there is a need for plain language and
signed video material. This kind of material makes church employees’ work easier
and helps to lower the threshold for collaborating with people with intellectual
disabilities.
