The main goal of the thesis was to create a light business and marketing plan for indoor activity in the Lahti area and to find out whether or not it would be profitable. Theoretical parts of the business plan were supported by using Five Forces by Michael Porter, and SWOT analysis. Marketing theory consisted of Content Map by Erik Devaney. Research methods for the thesis were quantitative data research through an anonymous online survey for people in the Lahti area, in which consumers were asked how they spend their free time. And an interview with the Business developer manager from LADEC Lahti.
As conclusions, it came clear, that an indoor activity such as minigolf could be profitable in Lahti region, if there would be considered planning and utilized tools for establishing an unconventional business compared to other offered services for attracting customers. Notable matter was that digital world and marketing is playing a big role in modern enterprises. Digital channels are used for everything from connecting customers to advertisement and making actual sales too. Without a proper plan digital marketing could be poorly executed and even make harm for the business.
