The core purpose of the evaluation is to investigate the outcomes of the intervention, as the funding and the programme in the current form is towards the ending. The Together on a Journey-programme recruits support families and support persons that may advance the integration and well being of unaccompanied refugee minors. Outcome-level evaluation may be viewed as a way to measure the impact and the observed changes on a superficial level. The objectives of the programme have advanced
from the original and the idea of the thesis is to document the outcomes of the intervention among the new potential primary beneficiaries. The programme and the related activities are targeted for unaccompanied refugee minors and young people who have already reached the age of majority in the aftercare services; nevertheless in the future the intention may be to prioritize unaccompanied refugee minors who are still underaged.
The data was garnered in a participatory manner with four key informants that consist of the employees of the family group homes and group homes. The data analysis was conducted with the utilization of thematic outcome-level evaluation. Consequently the idea is to use the findings of the evaluation for formative purposes. The information may serve several facets that consist of the stakeholders, primary beneficiaries, the programme employees and other professionals who may obtain interest for
the evaluation findings such as government officials, funders and other agencies.
The major results can be summarized as follows; the programme and the related activities obtain in preferential circumstances the potential to produce holistic outcomes and is considered mainly correspondent to the needs of the primary beneficiaries. Certain equivalence and synergy of factors may be obligatory for the desired outcomes to emerge. It can be concluded that the main improvements related to the programme are
in the advancement of cooperation, engagement of stakeholders, promotion of transparency and in the establishment of robust monitoring and evaluation protocols. Further research could be allocated to the evaluation of different existent service models designed for unaccompanied refugee minors and their immediate needs.
