Tiivistelmä
Maailmalla pyritään jatkuvasti etsimään puhtaita voimanlähteitä ajoneuvoille. Liikenne kokonaisuudessaan on yksi suurimmista myrkyllisten päästöjen aiheuttajista.
10 vuoden kuluttua liikenne on huomattavasti sähköistynyt. The world is constantly striving to find clean power sources for vehicles. Transportation as a whole is one of the biggest emitters of toxic emissions. Electric cars are a possible solution to this challenge. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to collect information of the development trends of electric cars in the 2010–2020 century and the future development prospects.
The research utilizes triangulation, which is carried out with the help of scientific sources, commercial sources and expert interviews. The findings of the three different methods of triangulation are combined into a set of benchmarks that include the charging network, battery capacity, ranges, CO2 emissions, and electric motors.
After 10 years, traffic will be significantly electrified. Battery technologies are evolving and capacity can be increased without a significant increase in battery weight. The charging infrastructure will grow and the fast charging stations will increase. Traditional cable charging will still be the most popular charging method in the near future. Battery capacities have grown significantly in ten years and the growth seems to continue in the future. Induction motors and permanent magnet motors currently compete in electric car motors. From these, the induction motor is more preferable to manufacture, but the permanent magnet motor has a better power-to-density ratio. There are still major development targets in batteries and charging systems. Temperature dependence factors related to battery capacities still require research.
