Herätesignaalien amplitudi on tärkeässä osassa identifioinnin onnistumisessa. Järjestelmissä esiintyvät häiriösignaalit voivat vaikuttaa merkittävästi taajuusvasteen määrittämiseen, jos ei käytetä tarpeeksi suurta amplitudia herätesignaalille. Suurilla herätesignaalin amplitudeilla järjestelmien epälineaarisuudet tulevat kuitenkin helpommin esille. Many mechanical systems can be modelled as two- or three-mass systems. An accurate model of the system provides help when implementing control solutions and designing the dynamics of the system. In some cases, obtaining an accurate model of the system can be a requirement for guaranteeing reliable operation of the system. The model can often be implemented experimentally by running a series of identification tests. The frequency response is the most important result obtained from the identification. It shows the dynamic attributes of the system, such as resonance frequencies. Real systems always include non-linearities, such as the flexibility of the system and/or friction. The nonlinearities can cause difficulties with the accurate modelling of the system.
This thesis focuses on three different excitation signals; chirp, PRBS, and multisine. The usage of these excitation signals for two mass system identification is studied by considering MATLAB- and Simulink-simulations. Both the linear and nonlinear system identification are presented in this thesis. Additionally, the differences between open-loop and closed-loop identification are studied. The amplitude of the excitation signal is in a central part of getting a successful identification result. The noise disturbance signals in the system can be too significant to determine a proper frequency response for the system if the amplitude of the excitation signal is too low. High amplitudes of the excitation signal however makes the nonlinearities of the system show up more on the identification.
