Tiivistelmä
During the last few years, the European discussion on the development of higher education has mainly focused on lifelong learning and future competences required at work. This also concerns Finland, where change in work and its requirements from education are emphasized in educational discussion. Additionally, more attention is paid to economic questions and cuts in the financing of education, and less to the role of education as a provider of the wellbeing of people or socially and ecologically sustainable development. Themes such as climate change, equality or a sustainable future are usually ignored in the discussion of higher education (Tervasmäki & Tomperi 2018).
