Tiivistelmä
Hiljainen tieto on yksilölle kertynyttä omaan ammattiin liittyvää osaamista eli inhimillistä pääomaa ja inhimillinen pääoma on puolestaan osa organisaation kokonaistietopääomaa (Intellectual Capital). Organisaatiot voivat hyödyntää hiljaista tietoa eri tavoin.
Tutkimuksen empiirinen osuus toteutettiin kahdessa kotimaisessa it-palvelusektorin organisaatiossa. Tacit knowledge is professional knowledge that is cumulated to an individual and which can be called "Human Capital". Human capital is part of Intellectual Capital of an organization. Organizations can use tacit knowledge in different ways. Recovery methods include sharing and / or codifying tacit knowledge. Unfortunately, very often for some reason organizations cannot, or they are not willing to use tacit information. Non-use can be considered as excess risk-taking, as competition is tightened. To succeed in competition the organizations must also exploit various sources of tacit knowledge.
This thesis concentrates on personal certifications as a source of tacit knowledge. Personal certifications are viewed from the perspectives of human resource management, knowledge management, organizational learning, intellectual capital, and operational management. The empirical part of the research was carried out in two domestic IT service sector organizations. Based on the data, it can be concluded that as important as the exploitation of tacit knowledge is for example, from the point of view of intangible capital, there are still organizations that have not recognized the importance of it, for example in the domestic IT service sector. On the other hand, one can also think positively and claim that the domestic IT service sector still has much untapped potential associated with better use of tacit knowledge.
