Tiivistelmä
This work contains information about two different approaches to model the emission of radiation from semiconductor nanowires. Modeling part was performed with the COMSOL Multiphysics software to solve Maxwell’s equations for the diffraction problem by using the Finite Element Method (FEM). By comparison both: a method with an actual emitting dipole and a method based on the Lorentz reciprocity, this work can help with understanding the nature of emission from nanowires and shows limitations and possibilities of each approach.
