Tiivistelmä
Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on ymmärtää mitkä tekijät vaikuttavat yrityksissä uudenlaisten kiinteistökohtaisten energiainvestointien päätöksenteon taustalla. Hyvinkään Sahanmäen teollisuusalueella on käynnissä EnergiaVäylä-niminen hanke, jonka tarkoituksena on selvittää mahdollisuutta rakentaa alueelle matalalämpöverkko, jonka avulla alueen yritykset voisivat hyötyä toistensa ylijäämälämmöstä. The aim of this thesis is to understand which factors affect companies’ property energy efficiency investment decisions. Research for this thesis was based around a project called EnergiaVäylä which explores a possibility to build a low thermal network to Hyvinkää’s Sahanmäki industrial area so that companies within Sahanmäki could be able to benefit from each other’s excess thermal energy. Case material for this research was collected by doing rounds of semi-structured theme interviews among the companies’ representatives. According to the results obtained companies experience that the possibility to join a low thermal network will increase the value of their property, enhance company’s image and earn energy savings. Also, companies that operate in an energy intensive manner were interested in selling their excess energy and profiting from it. In turn companies questioned the establishing cost, predictability of energy costs in the future, whether the number of companies joining the network is sufficient and if the operating interface suits everyone equally.
