Tiivistelmä
Imatran yläkouluissa on syksyllä 2016 annettu kaikille oppilaille ja opettajille tabletit työskentelyvälineiksi. Tämän työn tarkoituksena on ollut selvittää, millaisia näkemyksiä uusien tietoteknisten opetuslaitteiden käyttöönotosta opettajilla on ja millä tavoin nämä ennakkokäsitykset mahdollisesti vaikuttavat uusien digitaalisten laitteiden eli tablettien käyttöönottoon. Lisäksi tutkielmassa selvitettiin, onko opettajia mahdollista jakaa ryhmiin heidän ennakkoasenteidensa perusteella ja miten opettajia voidaan tukea laitteiden käyttöönotossa.
Teoriapohjana tutkielmassa toimivat mentaalimallit, teknologian hyväksymismalli TAM sekä innovaatioiden diffuusioteorian innovaatioiden ominaisuudet. Näiden avulla hahmoteltiin kuva laitteiden omaksumisprosessista. Lisäksi TRITS-malli on valittu kuvaamaan opettajista muodostuvia omaksujaryhmiä.
All students and teachers of secondary schools in Imatra received tablets in the fall of 2017 for working tools. The purpose of this study was to find out what kind of views the teachers had about the introduction of these new digital devices for teaching and how these preconceptions would affect on the adaptation of them. Furthermore, the paper also studied whether it is possible to divide the teachers into groups based on their adaptation behavior and how can the teachers be supported in the use of the devices.
The theoretical basis of the study includes mental models, technology acceptance model TAM, as well as the characteristics of innovation from the innovation diffusion framework. These theories were used to build a framework of the adaptation process of the devices. In addition, TRITS-model was selected to describe the adaptor groups of teachers. The feelings and preconceptions of teachers where studied using focus groups interviews of different school subject groups and the interviews where analyzed using qualitative phenomenographical analysis method.
Mental models, perceived usability and -ease of use as well as the characteristics of innovation all affect the adaptation of devices. It was also discovered in the study that teachers perceive these matters not only from their own perspective but also from the possible experiences of the students. Also, external factors: the timing of the device launch, the surrounding infrastructure and support provided where found to affect teachers' attitudes towards the devices
