Tiivistelmä
The thesis makes a view at the masculinity standards in modern Russia. What male model-to-follow is widespread in Russia today and why are the questions on which this work attempts to find answer to. To understand the nature of the current masculinity image in Russia an attempt to analyze masculine character type in the TV series "Brigada" is made. Alexander Belov as a character of "Brigada" enjoyed big popularity in Russian society. Therefore it is interesting to address to personal characteristics of this image to understand what kind of personality it is. The scope of analyzing this character lies specifically in the expressions of masculine behavior, which could be traced in Alexander Belov. View at the modern masculinity in Russia is based on gender studies.
