Abstract: Conductive and restrictive factors in the co-operation and multiprofessional work between the sectors of preventive child protection : the conceptions of workers as constructive factors in co-operation.
Since spring 2012, after the 8- year old Eerika died, the co-operation and multiprofessional work between sectors of preventive child protection have been widely investigated in the Finnish research. The focus of the investigations has been in identifying the problems of co-operation widely, in order to develop co-opearation. Multiprofessional work has also been studied as a part of co-operative work. Preventive child protection and it’s development needs have also been studied a lot. In this Master’s thesis I aim to answer two key questions: what are the conductive and restrictive factors in the co-operation and multiprofessional work between the sectors of preventive child protection? As research material I have used the workers’ answers to the survey that I have made during the practical training of my social work Master studies in Varsinais-Suomi Social Welfare Competence Centre in autumn 2012.
I break down the data with qualitative content analyze method. I found descriptions and categories of the structure in the co-operation of preventive child protection. Workers’ attitudes indicate that there are many tensions and sentiments in the field of co-operation. There is a lot of hidden criticism and assessing between the workers. I have created a picture of co-operation where the restrictive factors wake up the researcher’s interest. Based on the conductive factors it was possible to make proposals how to develop co-operation.
With this thesis I prove how important the independent sub systems are as restrictive factors in the co-operation beside individual’s action. I noticed that it is possible to describe the co-operational fields as undivided environment, where the rules of action are varying and under continuous change. I aim to observe the restrictive factors of the system when making development proposals.
