Tiivistelmä
Tiehankkeiden massataloudella on merkittävä vaikutus tiehankkeen kustannuksiin. Suuret massamäärät ja epäoptimaalinen massatasapaino nostavat kustannuksia rakennus- ja siirtotöiden määrän kasvaessa. Työssä tutkittiin suunnittelunaikaisen massalaskennan soveltuvuutta lopullisten massojen arviointiin.
Laskentasovelluksen tulokset vastasivat hyvin perinteisellä laskentatavalla saatuja tuloksia. Valmiissa suunnitelmassa tapahtuvat laskentaerot johtuivat laskentaohjelman eriävästä laskentatavasta. Suunnittelunaikaisissa massalaskennoissa laskentatulosten erot riippuvat väylämallin suunnittelunaikaisen ja valmiin väylämallin suunnitteluratkaisuiden eroista. Mitä pidemmälle suunnittelussa edetään, sitä tarkemmin suunnittelunaikaiset massalaskennat vastaavat lopullisia massalaskentoja. Laskentasovelluksella massatasapainon arviointi vaikutti vastaavan hyvin valmiin suunnitelman tuloksia jo suunnittelun aikana.
Mass economy has a major role in the costs of a road project. Large mass amounts and an suboptimal mass balance raise costs due to the increased amount of construction work and transportations of masses. In this master's thesis, the compatibility of mass calculations during a road project design compared to the calculations of a completed road project were investigated. For this thesis, a calculation application was created using the Grasshopper -environment to calculate the masses of a road design project faster and easier than the traditional way. The advantages, possibilities and limits of the mass calculations and the applications were recognized in this thesis.
In the first part, the typical design process of a road project and the part that mass calculations have were introduced. A typical design process of a road project consists of four parts, the preliminary study, the general plan, the conceptual plan, and the construction plan. With mass calculations it is possible to predict the cut and fill of a road project. The mass calculations can then be used for cost calculations, design choices and tenders.
In the second part, the typical procedures and used software and the application created for this master's thesis as well as their operating principles. In the third part, the results from using the calculation applications on a complete road project as well as the during-design road project were compared to the results from calculating the masses the traditional way.
The results from the mass calculations during a road design project are rudimentary. The results from comparing the application's results to the results from traditional calculations are explained by the different calculation principle of the applications. The calculation results from comparing a during-design and completed project with the application differ according to how far along the design process has advanced and how different the during-design designs are compared to the completed design. The further the design advances and closes to the finished design, the calculations results get more accurate to the finished mass calculations. The mass balance of the road models can be evaluated using the during-design road models.
To improve the results, the procedures of mass calculations and different road design software in foreign countries could be investigated and compared. Improving the application to calculate the different masses and their grade as well as improving the speed of the calculations, the amounts of different cut and fill materials could be investigated during road design.
