Opinnäytetyötä voidaan käyttää ohjeena ja yhtenä esimerkkinä hankesuunnitteluun ja projektiorganisointiin The commissioner of the thesis was Lanneveden Sampo-Nuorisoseura ry, a society founded in 1900. The aim of the thesis was to plan the renovation project of the society's club house which had been inaugurated in 1920. This thesis concentrates on the preparation and coordination of the realisation of the project. Also funding was in a central role because the renovation was partly realised on public LEADER+ funding of the third EU Framework Programme. As a result, the commissioner of the thesis received a report which includes the model for the realisation the project and the most important facts to consider before, during and after the actual renovation takes place. Although the renovation work will continue after this thesis is finished, the commissioner has a ready-made model and instructions on how to finish the project within the set time limit. There are tens, even hundreds of registered societies in Finland who owning buildings which are in need of renovation. This thesis describes a typical case, which can be used as an example for project planning and organisation.
