Tiivistelmä
The motive of this thesis writing is to do failure analysis on injection moulded parts. Injection moulding is one of the widely used manufacturing process for the plastic products. The final manufactured products’ performance and quality must be of good value to the customers. Any surface defects or failures that impact the safety and functionality of the product must be avoided. To perform such measures, different failure analysis must be used. The use of different analytical methods in analysing the failures in injection moulding products is explained in this report. The way samples are collected in the testing machines, the data stored in the computer and how the final output of the data presentation are revealed. The research based experimental examples are provided to evaluate different thermal analytical techniques. This thesis will focus on FTIR, DSC, MFI, TGA, and the Optical Microscopy.
