Tiivistelmä
The objective of this final year thesis is to present the importance and impact of security features for EVE web application and the development architecture of it. As David Health is the leader in rehabilitation, the data collection is one of the most valuable elements, thus, protecting the data becomes an essential part of the development.
Like any online platforms, EVE had seen potential attacks that malicious entity tried to breach into the system, fortunately, there has been no severe damage, but to protect the users in the long run, there was a decision to make a forward move in security.
Protection with password is good, but the act to enhance the security has potential benefits in many aspects in long term. So, two-factor authentication and login attempt dashboard are the new components developed for the EVE to have a more secure and reliable
authentication.
Additionally, ReactJS library (one of the most popular JavaScript front-end library nowadays) helps to build the components, this is a critical change in the sense of re-structuring the pattern of front-end development and performance optimization.
With the protection from two-factor authentication, even if the hackers could guess the password of the users, they would not be able to access to the priceless data. And with login attempt dashboard, our administrators and end-users can monitor the events that take place in the accounts and detect suspicious actions, thus, have applicable responses to handle them. However, the two features mean to solve the ongoing problems, and there are huge varieties of security threat that need to consider.
