Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this research is to understand and define Finnish luxury fashion consumption from a customer perspective. The study examines consumer behavior, attitude, motivation, and perception as core concepts that establish the theoretical background. Additionally, the explanations of luxury fashion, consumer behavior towards luxury fashion, and the relationships between Finnish customers and the luxury fashion industry are provided. It should be highlighted that the analysis of related previously conducted researches was made and assists this study. The research was conducted with the help of 57 Finnish individuals that participated in the online self-questionnaire. Unfortunately, the results are not able to answer the research questions and draw an accurate and independent conclusion about Finnish consumers’ perception of, attitude about, and motivation for choosing and/or consuming luxury fashion goods. By contrast, the study shows that the perceptions, attitudes, and motivations of Finnish respondents are broadened. The main reasons for this outcome are the small sample size and/or the wrong choice of the demographic limitations. In addition, the results from this work can be considered as supportive information for the previously published related studies. In conclusion, this work suggests the need to undertake further researches about Finnish luxury fashion consumption from a customer perspective with the implemented modifications regarding the sample size and demographic limitations.
