Tiivistelmä
With the implementation of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union cities and municipalities have an increased need to manage what software is used in their schools. GDPR is especially strict with children’s data. When teachers in a municipality need new software for pedagogical purposes there are several criteria that needs to be filled before the software can be installed on the students’ machines. The goal for this project is to create a web-application to ease with the deployment process. GDPR criteria’s for managing children’s data creates most of the requirements needed for the functionalities of the application. Some additional functionalities are also implemented to make the usage of the application easier. This thesis starts by describing the requirements for the application and what parts of GDPR are important regarding this project. In the next part this thesis takes a more technical approach to the architecture of the application. The usage of the application and different use cases are described as well as the database structure. The application itself is designed and developed by external teams using the architecture created in the earlier stages. This thesis also describes how the project was managed and what was important in the user experience design and software development processes. The results compare how well the final product represents the documentation created in the earlier changes and what changes were made during development. This thesis ends with the future for this product and how it can be scaled to work in all of Europe.
