Depression is a mental illness that lots of people don't like talking about, this gets worse at sea when people are working and living together, exposed to an environment that can influence Depression, the rate even gets higher. Depression the unspoken threat o life at sea is further associated with isolation as people do not open up about it to others when they need help. A proper dive into the studies reveals the various signs and symptoms associated with the different types of depression, past research on the subject and measure taken by maritime organisations including the government and other organisation. Human error accounts for 75% to 96% of maritime accidents and improving quality of life at sea which increases productivity and efficiency is very important in the maritime sector.
