Esittelimme suunnitelman tilaajan edustajalle toukokuussa 2020. Tilaajan hyväksyttyä suunnitelman saimme luvan projektiin kesäkuussa 2020. Alkusyksystä viimeistelimme käsikirjoituksen sekä suunnittelimme kertojan osuudet videolle. Valmis opetusvideo tuotettiin syksyllä 2020. Lopullinen video on kestoltaan kuusi minuuttia.
Tämän perusteella arvioitaisiin, ovatko akuuttitaulukon raja-arvot tarkoituksenmukaisia. The purpose of this thesis was to plan, execute and evaluate an educational video for the city of Rauma´s social- and healthcare services´ nursing personnel. The topic of the video is the foreshadowing signs of resuscitation and the criteria for alerting the acute team. The video´s quality was planned to be high enough to be used as a rehearsal- and learning material for the personnel.
The planning for the educational video started on the spring of 2020. During this phase we collected information from the existing literature and research. We introduced the plan to our thesis´ employer in May of 2020. When the plan was approved, we started the project on June of 2020. In the autumn of 2020 we finished the video´s general script and wrote the narrative. The production of the 6-minutes video was finalized in the autumn of 2020. The professional contents of the video is based on the city of Rauma´s health- and social services´ acute chart, which is used as a tool for following patients´ vital functions.
The video starts with monitoring of the vital functions of patients and the foreshadowing signs of resuscitation found in them. The acute chart is presented piecemeal, showing the different measurable quantities and how they may be observed. There´s also two cases, where the viewer may consider what the correct course of action would be according to the acute chart. The video ends with a summary, where the key issues are summarized and the importance of the early activation of the acute team is emphasized. The contents of the video are based on an extensive literature review, of which the majority are peer-reviewed.
The video is planned so that it works well also as a rehearsing video. The body of the video was made in Microsoft PowerPoint. The narrator´s voice was added along with different effects to guide the viewer´s attention. The project was entirely carried out by the work and equipment of the two writers of this thesis.
According to the resuscitation correspondents, the final product is an informative educational video, which can also be followed without sounds during the work shift swaps. The video can also be used as a rehearsal tool in resuscitation trainings.
A study focusing on the foreshadowing signs of resuscitation with the differences in measurable quantities and their thresholds would be an appropriate follow-up project. The goal of such a project could be to evaluate whether the acute charts´ thresholds are appropriate.
