Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli löytää tapoja kehittää kiinteistöhuollon kunnonvalvontaa Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy, Tampereen toimipisteellä.
The purpose of this thesis was to establish new ways to develop facility maintenance condition monitoring in Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy, Tampere. Throughout this thesis, hardware was inspected to make critical targets with the objective for condition monitoring.
Firstly, I familiarized myself with current maintenance standards, maintenance literature and vibration measurement, which can be adapt into production at a later stage. The most critical targets identified were compressors, air supply units and railway paint shop. Additionally, there was also a desire to measure the operational effectiveness of maintenance.
Initially, the first phase of the research began with investigating compressors. These units were restricted for usage on the Gardner Denver brand VS-series compressors. It was found that the control units within the compressor units could detect various of faults and make the necessary alert from the compressor itself. By integrating the controller units to a maintenance system, would allow efficient maintenance and automated work cards based on the machines operating hours. Once research had been satisfactorily collected, air supply units were explored. From this it was established that all air supply units were connected to the Honeywell building’s automation system, whereby the units could easily be controlled. The final phase of the research was directed towards measuring vibration and effectiveness of maintenance.
It was established that modern machinery already has the proclivity to collect information which could be used in the maintenance system which would develop conditional monitoring. There are different types of system alarms which are system specific which makes it difficult to monitor from one location. It is understood that from the integration of a maintenance system along with existing modern machinery that remote monitoring could be achieved.
Measuring operational effectiveness of maintenance was possible from using work cards. There was an issue with them being incorrectly filled in. This was due to the maintenance system being operating using a mobile phone. It is understood that a new mobile application is under development which will provide a better user experience when out in the field.
