Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön Tunteet pelissä tavoitteena oli kehittää tunteiden tunnistamista ja nimeämistä harjoittava lautapeli. Peli oli tarkoitettu esi- ja ensiopetusikäisille eli 6–9 -vuotiaille lapsille. Pelin ohjaajana toimi aikuinen, jolle koottiin pelisäännöt ohjaajan oppaaseen. Lautapeliä testattiin kolmen eri yhteistyökumppanin kanssa eri paikkakunnilla: alakoulussa 2.-luokkalaisilla, esikoulussa ja päiväkodissa.
Tunteet pelissä oli toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö, jonka tuotos oli lautapeli ja ohjaajan opas. Tuotos suunniteltiin, rakennettiin ja siihen luotiin sen säännöt alusta alkaen itse. Teoriapohjana oli tunnetaitoja ja pelisuunnittelua käsittelevä materiaali. Tutkitun teorian perusteella tunteista keskustelu ja tunnesanoilla puhuminen kehittävät lasten tunteiden käsittelytaitoja. Paremmat tunnetaidot lisäävät yksilön resilienssiä eli sopeutumiskykyä eri elämäntilanteissa. Teoriatiedon ja lautapelin testauskerroista saatujen huomioiden myötä pelin kantaviksi teemoiksi muodostuivat tunteiden nimeäminen ja yhdistäminen pelaajan omaan tunne-elämään.
Tunteet pelissä -lautapelin testikertojen perusteella esi- ja ensiopetusikäiset lapset olivat pelille sopiva kohderyhmä. Kyseisten ikäryhmien tunnetyöskentely- ja pelaamistaidot olivat pelin vaativuudelle sopivalla tasolla. Oman kehon tunteiden tunnistaminen ja niistä puhuminen vaikuttivat havaintojen mukaan positiivisesti pelaajiin. Opinnäytetyön tavoite eli lasten tunnetyöskentelyä harjoittavan lautapelin kehittäminen täyttyi. Tunteet pelissä. The objective of the Tunteet pelissä thesis was to develop an emotion identification and naming improving board game. The game was aimed at from pre-schoolers to third graders, from 6 to 9 year olds. An adult was needed to instruct the playing, to those for whom the instruction manual was conducted. The board game was tested with three different collaboration partners in different municipalities: in elementary school with second graders, pre-school and day care.
Tunteet pelissä was a functional thesis, which produced a board game and instruction manual for the adult instructor. The product was designed, built and the rule set was created by the thesis group, from the beginning. The theory basis was literature material about managing emotional skills and board game development. The researched theory shows that discussing emotions and with emotional words improves the ability to handle emotions by children by themselves. Better emotional skills add in resilience, the ability to adapt to different life situations. In the light of theory knowledge and with information from game tests, the thesis’s supportive themes were formed as naming the emotions and connecting those emotions in the players' own emotional life.
According to the game testing, the players from pre-school to third grade were fitting demographic to the Tunteet pelissä board game. Those age groups had emotional working and playing skills on the level that the board game required for playing. Identifying emotions as bodily occurrences and talking about emotions seemed to have positive influence on the players, according to our observations. Objective of the thesis was achieved.
