This thesis is a functional thesis. The purpose was to produce informative and clear PowerPoint study material for anesthesia nurse's work at different stages of general anesthesia for nursing students at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences to support simulation and self-study.
The goal of the thesis was to support the simulation teaching of the surgical and perioperative nursing course and to support the development of nursing students' skills in anesthesia nursing. The material deals about the stages of general anesthesia focusing on the activities of the anesthetic nurse and the anesthesia equipment.
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the equipment of general anesthesia, the job description of an anesthesia nurse, the different stages of anesthesia, anesthetic drugs and the process of a functional thesis. The PowerPoint presentation uses pictures and text to cover general anesthesia medications, devices, instruments, and anesthesia steps.
In the future, the learning material can be implemented with self-photographed visual material and the current material can be updated if the evidence-based information changes.
