The purpose of this thesis is to describe and open the process of doing art. Form of this thesis is a diary. Here I describe the whole process of giving birth to one work of art: my thesis from Kankaanpää Art School. That work of art is called Notes from the Sea, and it is an installation consisting of eight watercolor paintings; of me singing those paintings and the atmosphere of the sea. The third and the last part of this installation is this diary, that is placed inside the installation.
I have done this thesis during the school year 2019-2020 in my home town Kokkola, by the sea. I have wanted to open this process to the public and let people see, what it feels like to do art, and what kind of mental and physical challenges it involves.
