Tiivistelmä
Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on tarkastella koreografian luomisprosessia yhteiskunnallisesta aiheesta tanssiteoksen Kulutammeko toisemme loppuun? kautta. Opinnäytetyössä pohditaan koreografin omia motiiveja yhteiskunnallisen teoksen luomisesta sekä mitkä asiat ajavat taiteilijoita tekemään yhteiskunnallisia teoksia. Työssä tarkastellaan myös teoksen koreografista kehitystä ja koreografisia keinoja sekä elementtejä, miten teos lähti syntymään ja millainen oli lopputulos. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tekijän koreografisten taitojen kehittyminen.
Kulutammeko toisemme loppuun? on Carola Jäderholmin tanssiteos, joka esitettiin keväällä 2020 Kuopiossa Sotku-teatterissa. Teos käsittelee kuluttamista ja ihmisyyttä tanssin keinoin. Kuluttamista ja ihmisyyttä tarkastellaan teoksessa kolmen kohtauksen pohjalta. Kohtauksien aiheena ovat ahneus, välinpitämättömyys ja yhteistyö. Teoksen tavoitteena oli luoda tanssiteos yhteiskunnallisesta aiheesta. Teoksen ideana oli nousukiitomainen kantaaottavuus abstraktista konkreettisempaan.
Raportissa pohditaan Jäderholmin koreografisia valintoja ja teoksen syntyä, miten hän päätyi kyseiseen aiheeseen ja mitä koreografisia keinoja hyödynnettiin teoksessa. Raportissa avataan kirjallisen ja taiteellisen työn aihevalintojen syitä ja lähtökohtia sekä kuinka ne kehittyivät prosessin edetessä. Jäderholm pohtii muun muassa, millainen oli teoksen kehitys ja saavutettiinko päämäärä.
Raportissa kerrotaan taiteellisen työn haasteista, ongelmista, tavoitteista ja onnistumisista, kuinka Jäderholm kohtasi haasteet ja ongelmat sekä miten ne vaikuttivat lopputulokseen. Raportissa pohditaan myös, kuinka tavoitteet täyttyivät ja miten Jäderholm koki onnistuneensa. Prosessi opetti Jäderholmia ymmärtämään ja tarkastelemaan tanssitaidetta yhä monipuolisemmin. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the process of creating a choreography on a social theme in the artistic thesis called Kulutammeko toisemme loppuun? (Greed, indifference and collaboration). This thesis considers the choreographer’s own motives for creating a societal artwork, as well as what makes artists to do societal artworks. The thesis also examines the artwork’s choreographic development and elements. How this artistic thesis was made and what the outcome was. The aim of the thesis was the development of choreographic knowledge.
Kulutammeko toisemme loppuun? is Carola Jäderholm’s artistic thesis, which was performed in the spring of 2020 in Kuopio. The artistic thesis deals with consumption and humanity, which are examined through three scenes. The scenes are about greed, indifference and collaboration. The aim of the artistic thesis was to create an artwork on a societal theme. The idea for the artistic thesis was to make a declaration, progressing from abstract to more concrete.
The report considers Jäderholm’s choreographic choices and the idea for the artwork, how she chose the theme and what choreographic elements were used in the artistic thesis. The report examines the reasons and starting points for the choice of themes for literary and artistic thesis. The report considers the development of the themes in the process and the end result of the thesis.
The report describes the challenges, problems, goals, and successes of the artistic thesis. It also describes how Jäderholm faced the challenges and problems she encountered, and how these affected the outcome. The report also considers how the goals were fulfilled and how Jäderholm felt after this experience. The process taught Jäderholm to understand art and dance in a more diverse way.
