Tiivistelmä
Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on selvittää luonnon vaikutuksia työikäisten mielenterveyskuntoutujien arjen hallintaan ja mielen hyvinvointiin. Lisäksi tarkoitus on tuottaa ajankohtaista ja hyödyllistä tietoa sosiaalialan ammattilaisille sekä mielenkiintoista lukemista asiasta kiinnostuneille. Opinnäytetyö on tehty yhteistyössä Mielenvireys ry:n TOLPPA-hankkeen kanssa. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena ja aineisto kerättiin kyselylomakkeilla. Analysoinnissa käytettiin aineistolähtöistä sisällönanalyysiä.
Tutkimukseen osallistuneiden vastaukset osoittavat, että TOLPPA-hankkeessa käytettävät Green Care -menetelmät nostivat merkittävästi osallistujien elämänhallintaa ja jaksamista arjessa. Vuorovaikutus toisten ihmisten, luonnon ja eläinten kanssa vahvistaa oman itsen tuntemista ja hyväksymistä. Tulosten mukaan toiminta luonnossa lisäsi osallistujien elämänhalua ja heidän mielen hyvinvointinsa kohentui. Tulokset vastasivat asetettuja tavoitteita. Jatkotutkimusideana voisi selvittää mielenterveyskuntoutujien tarvetta tehdä yhteistyötä seurakunnan kanssa luontolähtöisten menetelmien avulla. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the impact of nature on everyday management and mental well-being of working-age people undergoing mental health rehabilitation. Furthermore, the aim was to create up-to-date useful information to be used by professionals of social studies and interesting reading material for those interested in the topic. The thesis was carried out in collaboration with Mielenvireys society, TOLPPA project, Finland. It was carried out as a qualitative research project and the material was gathered by using questionnaires. The analysis was performed using material-oriented content analysis.
The answers of the participants of the research project show that the Green Care methods used in the TOLPPA project improved significantly the life management and wellness of everyday life of the participants. The interaction between the participants, nature and animals strengthens self-knowledge and self-acceptance. According to the results the nature-oriented activities increased the love of life and spirit of the participants and that their mental well-being was enhanced. The results were in conformity with the aims that had been set. As a future research idea, the need of mental health rehabilitation clients to work together with the parish using nature-oriented methods could be investigated.
