Tiivistelmä
Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli pitää koulutus hoitohenkilökunnalle. Koulutus pidettiin marraskuussa 2019.
The purpose of the thesis was to provide education for nursing staff which took place in November 2019. The aim was to help nurses recognize and take care of circulatory wounds which can be divided into three groups, i.e. venous, arterial and mixed wounds. The commissioner of the thesis was the City of Oripää.
This functional thesis consisted of the theoretical basis report and the education arranged for the nursing staff. In addition, a PowerPoint slideshow and a poster were designed for the education event to support the presentation. The thesis report discussed factors related to wounds, i.e. their origin, recognition, prevention and differences in wound care. Moreover, the importance of nutrition and pain care were included in the report. The main sources of background information were Google Scholar, Terveysportti, Hamk Finna, Finna, Medic, Melinda and Pub-Med database. The pictures and images of the circulatory wounds were received from an expert of the field.
Based on the positive feedback from the attendees, the goals of the thesis were achieved. For future development ideas it is recommended to give longer and more thorough education for nurses about circulatory wounds since now the authors could only concentrate on headlines within the limited time resource.
