Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyössä tutkittiin sähköavusteisen turboahtimen toimintaa työkoneisiin suunnatussa dieselmoottorissa. Tutkimuksen tavoite oli selvittää sähköavusteisen turboahtimen kykyä parantaa moottorin toimintaa etenkin pakokaasupäästöjen ja polttoaineenkulutuksen osalta. Tutkimuksen kokeellinen osio suoritettiin kevään 2019 aikana Turun ammattikorkeakoulun energiatekniikan laboratoriossa.
Tutkimuksessa suoritettaviin testeihin sisältyi staattisten mittauspisteiden lisäksi dynaamisia ajosyklejä, kuten kansainvälisesti päästöluokituksessa hyödynnettävät NRTC ja NRSC ajosyklit. Tutkimuksessa hyödynnettävään Agco Power Stage 5 työkonemoottoriin ei tehty turboahdinta lukuun ottamatta mitään rakenteellisia muutoksia. Tutkimuksen aikana moottorinohjausyksikön ohjelmistoon tehtiin useita muutoksia, jotta sähköavusteisen turboahtimen vaikutus moottorin toimintaan ilmenisi mahdollisimman hyvin saavutetuissa mittaustuloksissa.
Opinnäytetyössä otetaan varsinaisen tutkimustyön lisäksi katsaus myös nykytilanteeseen hybriditeknologian alalla ja kuinka hybriditeknologiaa on jo aiemmin hyödynnetty työkoneisiin suunnatuissa moottoreissa.
Tutkimustyö sujui loppuun asti ilman merkittäviä ongelmia. Tutkimuksesta saadut tulokset olivat monipuolisia ja sähköavusteisella turboahtimella todettiin olevan merkittävä vaikutus moottorista saatuihin mittaustuloksiin. Tutkimustulosten nojalla sähköavusteista turboahdinta on mahdollista hyödyntää työkonekäyttöön suunnatussa dieselmoottorissa. The purpose of this thesis was to research the operation of an electrically assisted turbocharger in a non-road engine. The main goal of the research was to reveal the turbocharger’s potential to reduce the engine’s emissions and to improve the fuel economy of the test engine. The research took place at Turku University of Applied Sciences and the tests were run during the spring of 2019.
During the research, the engine was tested in numerous static measurement points and also with dynamic test cycles, such as the internationally used NRTC and NRTC cycles. The manufacturer of the test engine was Agco Power Ltd. There were no structural modifications made to the engine with the exception of the electrically assisted turbocharger. During the research multiple changes were made to the engine control unit to improve the operation of the turbocharger.
This thesis also includes a brief overview for the current situation in the area of hybrid technology and how it has been developed for the non-road engines.
The research was completed without any remarkable problems. The research results were comprehensive and the electrically assisted turbocharger proved to have a notable effect on the engine. Based on the results an electrically assisted turbocharger has a clear potential to be used as a hybrid solution in a non-road engine.
