Vastauksia kyselyyn saatiin 279 kappaletta. The objective of this thesis was to examine the customers’ interest in workshop activity at Turku City Library. Are they interested in workshop activity at the library, and if so, what kind? The thesis was commissioned by the Turku City Library.
The theoretical part of the thesis explores workshop activity from the perspectives of library pedagogy, promotion of equality, and communality and inclusiveness. The thesis is a quantitative piece of research and the method of the study was a customer survey. The survey was carried out in collaboration with Turku City Library. The collection of information was done at the Turku Main Library by distributing the survey to its customers.
279 customers took part in the survey. It’s fair to say that the majority of the people who participated in the survey were interested in the potential of multifaceted workshop activity at Turku City Library. The library is a customer-focused organization, and the importance of this interrelation was highlighted in the results of the study. Customers also found it important for them to be able to give their opinions on workshop activity and its development.
