Tiivistelmä
Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli kuvata Turun ensikodin toimintaa ja tuottaa ajantasainen opas ensikotikuntoutuksesta ja kuntoutusmenetelmistä. Tavoitteena oli havainnollistaa terveydenhuollon ammattilaisille ja lastensuojelussa työskenteleville ensikodin toimintaa ja merkitystä perheille. Ensikoti ilmaisi tarpeen oppaalle, joka käsittelee ennakollisen lastensuojeluilmoituksen tärkeyttä, koska se on ensimmäinen askel perheen auttamiseksi, jos heistä herää huoli. Opinnäytetyön keskeisimpiä osa-alueita oli kuvata ensikodin asiakasperheitä, sekä menetelmiä, joiden avulla perheitä arvioidaan ja tuetaan vanhemmuuteen.
Nykypäivänä vanhemmuuden haasteet ovat moninaisia, ja yhden perheen sisälle saattaa mahtua monia eri arkea ja vanhemmuutta kuormittavaa tekijöitä. Ensikoti tarjoaa vahvaa ympärivuorokautista tukea erilaisissa elämäntilanteissa oleville odottaville vanhemmille sekä perheille, joihin vauva on jo syntynyt. Ensikotikuntoutuksen ihanteellisin aloitus ajankohta on jo raskausaikana, jotta tulevaan synnytykseen ja vauva-arkeen voidaan yhdessä perheen kanssa valmistautua ja luoda mielikuvia syntyvästä vauvasta.
Arki ensikodissa on vauvalähtöistä, ja perheen kanssa räätälöidään heidän tarpeita palveleva kuntoutussuunnitelma. Kuntoutuksen vaiheita, tavoitteita ja edistymistä tarkastellaan säännöllisesti perheiden verkostopalavereissa, joissa paikalla ovat ensikodin työntekijöiden lisäksi perheen omat sosiaalityöntekijät. Ensikotikuntoutuksen kesto määräytyy perheen tarpeen ja sosiaalityöntekijän päätöksen mukaisesti. Menetelmät, joiden avulla perhettä tuetaan ja arvioidaan, ovat ensikodin pitkään käytössä olleita ja eteenpäin kehitettyjä.
Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin toiminnallisena opinnäytetyönä, jonka toimeksiantajana toimii Turun ensi- ja turvakoti, ensikodin yksikkö. Opinnäytetyön tiedonhakuun käytettiin sähköisiä tietokantoja sekä kirjallisuutta. Tietokantoina toimivat Medic, Cinahl ja Google Scholar. Kirjalliset teokset koostuvat ensikodin käyttämistä oppaista ja käsikirjoista. Opinnäytetyön raportin pohjalta valmistui opas, joka luovutettiin Turun Ensikodille. The purpose of this study is to describe the activities of Turku Mother and Child Home and provide an up-to-date guide about rehabilitation in a mother and child home. The aim of the study was to raise awareness among the healthcare professionals and others working in child welfare about the function and importance of mother and child home. Turku Mother and Child Home requested a guide emphasizing the importance of anticipatory child welfare notification, as the notification is the first step in helping the families who may need help. The main subject of the study is to describe the clients of mother and child home and the methods used to evaluate and support parenting.
These days families may face many different factors burdening parenting and daily life. Mother and child homes provide strong round-the-clock support for families in various situations of life before and after child’s birth. The most optimal time for beginning a mother and child home rehabilitation is during pregnancy, in order to the family to be able prepare and create a vision about the forthcoming birth and life with a baby.
Daily life at mother and child home is baby-oriented and the rehabilitation plan is customized to the family’s needs. The steps, goals and progress of the rehabilitation are examined regularly in meetings with the family, their designated social workers and the workers of mother and child home. Duration of the rehabilitation is determined by family’s needs and the decision of the social workers.
The study is a functional thesis project, assigned by Turku Mother and Child Home (Turun ensi- ja turvakoti, ensikodin yksikkö). Electronic databases, such as Medic, Cinahl and Google Scholar, as well as guides and handbooks in Mother and Child Home were used for data retrieval. The guide based on this study was given to Turku Mother and Child Home.
