Layout-suunnitelmat tehtiin Autodesk AutoCAD-ohjelmistolla. Kaikki layout-suunnitelmat
piirrettiin toimeksiantajalta saatuihin pohjiin, eikä työssä täten käsitellä rakennuksen pohjapiirustusten suunnittelua, eikä varastointiin liittyviä yksityiskohtia.
Laajennuksen rakentaminen on aloitettu opinnäytetyön valmistuessa, joten lopullisesta layoutista ei tähän opinnäytetyöhön saatu mallia. Opinnäytetyössä suunniteltujen layoutien tarkoituksena oli auttaa työn asettajaa luomaan yrityksen tarpeisiin sopivin kokonaisuus. This thesis was commissioned by Hot-Steel Oy. Hot-Steel Oy is a subcontracting machine shop located at Lehtimäki and it has been in business since 1985. The company’s long planned machining shop extension was about to start, and they wanted a few blueprints drawn by an outsider to give some perspective to the layout of the extension. The company’s current premises are approximately 380 square meters and the planned extension is approximately 660 square meters.
In this thesis the differences between layout types were studied, together with the best suited layout type to support the company’s operations. Three different blueprints for machining shop were made and they were compared to each other and to the blueprints made by the client. All blueprints made in this thesis were drawn with Autodesk AutoCAD, and they were made available to the client as soon as they were completed. All the blueprints were drawn based on the configuration made by the client, and this thesis did not cover designing the floor plan of the building, nor did it go into the details of storage systems.
Construction of the extension was started during the completion of this thesis, so the final layout of the upcoming extension was still open. The blueprints in this thesis are meant to help the customer to create the best suited order for the company’s machine shop.
