Tiivistelmä
The Lean production is the system in which the production is managed by the various tools of Lean Six Sigma to make the process flow efficient, reduce lead time and remove the wastes in the company. In this thesis I will be describing about Lean production through the implementation and case study done in a house element manufacturing Company, Vieskan Elementti Oy a company where Lean systems are not introduced yet. Thus, this whole work was very practical application of Lean Production System in this Company. The entire writing is in the basis of the Lean principles and practical observation in this company where I selected one of the major process in the production line. I will be discussing about Lean, implementing various tools and practical work based on Lean-Six sigma in this case study. The entire thesis is according to Define Measure Analyze Improve and Control methodology. The Company is struggling with long lead time problems because of the wall element department which means less productive. I have used suitable and effective Lean tools for process mapping such as Value Stream Mapping to identify the root causes of delays. Variation in the products are also one issue that is facing this Company. I have implemented Single Minute Exchange of Dies to reduce changeover time.
Identifying the actual problem that is bottlenecks in the company´s wall element production line with the help of Lean tools, removing these wastes, making efficient flow and to reduce the Lead time were the main aims of this thesis.
