Tiivistelmä
Ensimmäisen elinvuoden aikana lapsen motorisen kehityksen eteneminen on nopeimmillaan. Varhaisessa vaiheessa huomattujen kehityksen poikkeamien kuntoutumisen ennuste on parempi.
Tuotettu havainnointimateriaali auttaa Porin Perusturvan fysioterapeutteja kartoittamaan lapsen mahdollisia kehityksellisiä poikkeamia. During the first year of a child's life, their motor development is at its highest. In that time many milestones are achieved forming the base for further development.
It is important to notice possible deviations or delays in early development, for as the child can be given proper treatment, if warranted. Noticing deviations in the development early on, is crucial for a better prognosis in rehabilitation.
A physical therapist evaluates child’s performance by observing, interviewing, manually testing and also by various types of measurements. Often possible delays and/or deviations in development can occur during an evaluation of the child's physical performance.
The purpose of this thesis was to produce a material on the motor development of an infant, to support the physical therapists of Porin Perusturva. For as the goal was to standardize the initial examinations of clients under the age of one.
As an active research this was to be combined into three components; the material produced, piloting and a written thesis. Observational material was comprised of the first year’s achievements in motor development, also the mirroring effects expected during this age. The comprised materials will help the physical therapists, of Porin Perusturva, to examine the possible deviations in the child's development.
