Tiivistelmä
This research was done for KONE Corporation. Founded in 1910, Kone Corporation is a Finnish company specializing in the manufacture of elevators and escalators. In 2017, the company was Finland's sixth largest company.
In its operations, the company takes the environment into consideration and tries to reduce the carbon footprint of its own products. The equipment is designed and manufactured with due regard for its environmental friendliness and energy efficiency. KONE is committed to continuous improvement and continuously researching and developing energy efficiency and environmental performance.
Optimizing the energy consumption of elevators can reduce investment in building power networks, reduce operating costs and contribute positively to reducing carbon dioxide emissions. This requires constant research and development, as well as knowledge of the process of planning the power grid of buildings. Factors influencing the design process and the goals of the modern world play a very important role in understanding the process.
The aim of the research was to investigate the consideration of electrical networks serving elevator systems in practical design and the factors influencing design. The research was carried out by examining the literature of the field, interviews with experts in various fields and utilizing the author's own electrical engineering experience. The experts were interviewed using surveys. Surveys were conducted for architects, environmental certification consultants and electrical design professionals from Finland and abroad.
As a result of the work, a description of practical design methods of power networks serving elevator systems, as well as factors influencing the methods and their development was obtained.
