Opinnäytetyö on osa isompaa kolmen työn kokonaisuutta, joissa käsitellään yksi kuvitteellinen potilastapaus kohteeseen saapumisesta hoito-ohjeen toteuttamiseen saakka.
Työ toteutettiin toiminnallisena opinnäytetyönä, jonka tuotteena tuotettiin yhdessä kahden muun opinnäytetyöryhmän kanssa videosarja, joka konkretisoi turvallisen tavan toimia ensihoitotehtävällä. Videoilla esiintyy kuvitteellinen potilastapaus, jossa iäkkäälle henkilölle on kehittynyt yleistilanlasku useiden tuntien aikana.
Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja on Turun ammattikorkeakoulu ja yhteistyössä toimii Varsinais-Suomen pelastuslaitos. Safety is one of emergency care’s foundation pillars that consists not only of clinical skills but also non-technical skills like communication, team work, CRM consideration and knowing the situation. Adverse events in health care are often caused by humane mistakes that could have been avoided with CMR and the correct way of communication.
The purpose of the thesis was to examine the factors that affect the safety of emergency care through literature review and interviews of experts. The thesis’ objective is to produce a literature review based on recent and researched information. With this information video material is produced, which concretizes the factors affecting emergency medical service’s safety in a clear and understandable manner.
In this thesis the safety of emergency care is addressed through concentrating on the arrival to the destination, execution of primary survey, CRM and the significance of non-technical skills to ensure the safety of the nursing staff and the patients in emergency care. This thesis is a part of a bigger entirety of three assignments, in one of which an imaginary patient case is handled from arriving to the situation to execution of the regimen.
The assignment was executed as a functional thesis. As a product of this along with two other thesis groups series of videos was produced, that concretized a safe way of taking action on an emergency care mission. On the video an imaginary patient case is presented, in which a decrease of the general state has developed to an elderly person over several hours.
The thesis’ commissioner is Turku University of Applied Sciences and Southwest Finland Emergency Services in co-operation.
