Yksi ydintekijä on edistymäseurannan vieminen riittävälle tasolle. Suunnittelussa hyödynnetään jatkuvan parantamisen kiertoa ja päivittäisen työn osaajien tietotaitoa. Selkeän toimintatavan ympäristössä jokainen tietää mitä milloinkin tulee tehdä.
Tutkimuksessa keskitytään edistymäseurannan parantamiseen ja päivittäisjohtamisen tehostamiseen. Tutkimuksessa löytyi myös muita perusparannuksia, jolla pystyttiin tehostamaan päivittäisjohtamista. Avoimuuden ja syyttelemättömyyden kulttuurin kautta johdon ja päivittäisen työn välinen yhteys tehostui.
Lean filosofiana tarjoaa työkaluja johtamistyön helpottamiseksi ja tehostamiseksi. Hukanpoiston toteuttaminen vaihtelevassa ympäristössä tuo omat haasteensa, mutta soveltamalla toimintoja voidaan tuottavuutta tehostaa huomattavasti. The main aim of the present master’s thesis is to help the management of challenging construction sites by exploring lean methods and philosophy and incorporating them into the daily work. Lean ways were taken to be part of daily work. Lean plays a major role in making the work more efficient at a site. Based on the authors own experience, one of the key problems in construction sites is the poor progress follow up and predictability, which lead to poor coordination. The study shows that the management of a site might be based on poor information and thus cause delays and failures. Tools are usually not detailed enough to give the needed information and updating work is done with poor initial data. The management does not have the latest full overview of the site status and problems are identified too late. On the basis of insufficient data, the coordination of many contractors at the same time in a large area is difficult.
Adapting the procedures according to the principles of the lean philosophy improve the followup and predictability in the construction site environment. Lean philosophy is taken to construction site environment. More detailed follow-up in turn, facilitates the daily management and coordination and more accurate coordination forms the basis for the expected progress. One key factor is to bring the site follow-up work at a detailed level. Interactive planning and continuous improvement are the main tools in planning the upcoming work.
In addition, clearly defined roles and responsibilities form an important basis for work. The present thesis focuses on improving the follow-up and daily management, but the study also identifies other areas for improvement to increase the efficiency of the daily management work. Open atmosphere where no one is blamed makes the flow of information smoother and opens the connection between the site and management organizations.
Lean as a philosophy offers tools for management. Reducing waste in changing site environment is difficult but by adapting the procedures, the work can be done more efficiently and smoothly.
