Yritys on juuri siirtänyt tuotantonsa uudelle tuotantolaitokselle.
This thesis project was conducted for a Finnish food industry company. The aim was to improve and renew the staff orientation system in the cutting department of the facility. The company had recently transferred its production to the new facility. The materials and the work procedures of the old facility were not suitable for the new environment. There was no material for the orientation process of the new workers besides the old guidelines.
First, the current state of the orientation process was studied by interviewing the new workers and the workers guiding them. Based on the interviews, the old guidelines were updated. A process chart of the orientation was also created to support the staff members guiding the new workers. The process chart includes reminders and guidelines for the guiding workers.
The guidelines include instructions about the progression of the orientation and the time to be used in the process. The new guidelines and orientation process were tested for two weeks in the facility. The workers gave feedback about the guidelines after the testing period. Based on the feedback, the guidelines were modified and the use of the guidelines was instructed. The workers deemed the new guidelines and the process chart simple and easy to understand.
