The purpose of this thesis was to study Romano Mission’s employees’ well-being at work. Romano Mission is an association which works in the social service sector. The aim was to collect information how the employees describe and assess the state of well-being at work. The theme of the thesis was selected during a practical placement in the association. This study was needed and topical.
The background of this study consisted of publications, literature and former researches including essential concepts and knowledge of well-being at work. The main theoretical source was a book called The Steps of the Well-being at Work, written by Rauramo. The data were collect-ed by a two-step method trough methodological triangulation. The re-search methods were group interviews and a web-based survey. The obtained data were thematized and reflected upon the theory.
The outcome of this thesis was that well-being at work in Romano Mission is good. The employees described that the work community, job description, scheduling, atmosphere, rest and health, communication, opportunity for development and Christian values all contribute to the well-being at work. In the conclusion, the data had similarities with the theory. The staff wish that they would get new tools for com-municating and scheduling their work.
