This is a bachelor’s thesis for Seinäjoki University of Applied Science’s Degree Programme in International Business. The research aims to conduct a research how to set up a feasible café shop in Helsinki region. To help the business plan succeed, there is an insight analysis of the customer behavior and competitive of coffee market in Finland.
Qualitative method is selected as the main method in the thesis with the use of survey to analyze the market, especially about the target customer. The survey was conducted with 74 participants selected in three crowded districts of Helsinki with different age and nationalities.
The theoretical framework analyzes literature reviews of business plan and determine a suitable structure for the business plan of café shop Xin Chao. Marketing concepts related to market analysis, marketing mix 7Ps, SWOT analysis, financial and related theories are reviewed to support the business plan.
The author believes that the business – Xin Chao café shop is feasible with the insights of the coffee market and effective marketing strategies. High quality products and excellent service are the corners stone of developing the café shop. With the use of traditional and digital marketing, the business will not only cause a buzz in the coffee market at the beginning, but also a popular location for residents, workers and tourist in Kruununhaka, Helsinki.
