Tiivistelmä
Viranomaisradioverkko VIRVE on suojattu, TETRA-standardiin perustuva viranomaisten viestijärjestelmä. Viranomaisradioverkkopuhelimen käyttö on laajentunut myös laboratorioon. Nykyään VIRVE-puhelin on käytössä laboratoriossa vuorokauden ympäri 24/7.
The Public Authority Radio Network VIRVE is a protected public authority messaging system based on the TETRA standard. The use of a public authority radio network phone has also expanded to the laboratory. Today the VIRVE phone is available in the laboratory around the clock 24/7.
The thesis examined the use of the Public Authority Radio Network in the laboratory. As part of the thesis development work, a VIRVE telephone user manual for laboratory workers was made. The work was requested by the Eastern Finland Laboratory Centre Joint Authority Enterprise ISLAB, the Central Laboratory of Mikkeli.
The Survey -research method was used for collecting information and data from a pre-defined laboratory worker group who used the VIRVE phone. The aim of the survey was to identify problems and shortcomings in the use of VIRVE. The quantitative research method was applied in this study. An Excel spreadsheet program was used to analyze the results. The data was analyzed by using distribution numbers, direct distributions and cross-tabulation.
According to the results of the study, younger laboratory workers were better able to use the VIRVE phone than older workers, and they found it easy to use the phone. The study revealed the need for a VIRVE-phone user guide for laboratory workers. The reliability of the survey was weakened by the number of respondents, 19 of 30 respondents. The number of respondents should have been more.
The subject of the thesis was relevant because it can be utilized and applied in practical work, both on an informative and practical basis. The Universities of Applied Sciences could add in their training program for Biomedical Laboratory Scientists a course in using the VIRVE phone or the new authority phone coming.
