Tiivistelmä
Tämän työn tarkoituksena oli vaikuttaa hypermarketin kassa- ja info-osaston työvälineiden ja -ympäristön visuaalisen ulkonäön selkeyttämiseen, työn teon helpottumiseen sekä työn ymmärryksen parantamiseen Lean-filosofiasta lähtöisin olevien työkalujen avulla. Tarve työn toteuttamiselle ilmeni työntekijöiden antamasta palautteesta sekä työn kustannusten jatkuvasta noususta.
Teoreettinen viitekehys rakentui johtamisoppien ympärille. Tietoperusta sisältää tietoa Lean-johtamisesta sekä opinnäytetyöhön käytettyjen työkalujen esittelyä. Lean-johtamisen laatutyökaluista käyttöön valikoituivat työntekijöiltä saatujen palautteiden perusteella: 5S, jolla hallinnoidaan siistiä osastoa, Daily Management, jonka tarkoituksena on lisätä työn ymmärrystä sekä PDCA – jolla tavoitellaan jatkuvan parantamisen mallia. Tietoperustassa käsitellään myös kehityskeskusteluita sitouttamisen keinona ja esitellään mittaristot, joiden perusteella opinnäyteyön onnistumista voidaan mitata.
Opinnäytetyössä käytetään sekä kvalitatiivista että kvantitatiivista tutkimusmenetelmää. Nykytilan kartoitus tehtiin työn kirjoittajan osallistuvan havainnoinnin ja työntekijöiden antamien mielipiteiden avulla. Tutkimustulosten perusteella valittiin kohteet, joihin Lean-menetelmän työkaluja kokeiltiin. Työn toteutusosassa esitetään, millaisiin ratkaisuihin osastolla työkalujen käytössä päädyttiin. Työn tuloksia mitataan osiossa henkilöstökulu-jen kehityksellä sekä työntekijöiden antamalla pisteytyksellä.
Tuloksina havainnoitiin, että työntekijöiden kokonaisymmärrys työn merkityksestä kasvoi Daily managementin avulla. Henkilöstön mielipiteen ja henkilöstökulujen perusteella voidaan myös tulkita, että 5S on vaikuttanut positiivisesti työn virtauksen parantumiseen ja täten myös asiakaspalvelun sujuvuuteen The purpose of this thesis was to make a difference on visual clearness and workflow and to simplify ways of working in Cashier and Help desk department in a hypermarket by using tools from Lean Management philosophy. The need for this study arises from is the feedback collected from Cashier and Help desk workers and from the fact that costs in this area are constantly increasing.
The theoretical framework was built on the basics of management studies. Basics of Lean Management and used tools are described in the knowledge fundamentals of this thesis. The tools used from Lean Management were chosen according to the feedback from area workers. 5S is typically used to create and control clean workplace. The purpose of Daily management is to improve common understanding of workload and most important measurable indicators. PDCA – cycle is used to create a culture of continuous improvement. Appraisal discussions are addressed from the staff commitment point of view. The most important indicators to evaluate the final results of this thesis are introduced in knowledge fundamentals.
The approach methods were both qualitative and quantitative. Current state mapping was done by using informal observations inside the unit and by analyzing feedback received from workers. Based on these studies, the Lean Management piloting areas were chosen. The implementation part of this thesis represents the chosen solutions in the study area. The results are measured by observing the progress of staff expenses and by scoring created for workers to evaluate whether the changes were negative or positive.
Results indicate that overall understanding of area workers was improved by using methods of daily management. 5S and better workflow management resulting to better customer service can also be verified from the latest worker feedback and currently lower staff expenses.
