Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyössä käsiteltiin eläimen inhimillistämistä. Lähtökohtana käytettiin taiteilijan samaistumista lemmikkikaniaan kohtaan. Taiteilija kuvasti tunteita teosten kanien avulla. Teokset toteutettiin pääasiassa akvarelleilla ja muutamassa teoksessa käytettiin lyijytäytekynää.
Kirjallisessa osuudessa käsiteltiin tietoisuutta ja empatiakykyä. Näiden näkökulmien avulla pohdittiin eläimen olemista sekä inhimillistämisen helppoutta. Kirjallisessa osuudessa käsiteltiin myös lyhyesti eläintä Suomen taiteessa. Taiteellisessa osuudessa käsiteltiin materiaaleja, työskentelytapoja, taiteilijan samaistumista lemmikkikaniinsa sekä muutamia töitä tarkasteltiin tarkemmin.
The thesis deals with the humanization of the animal. The starting point was the identification of the artist towards a pet rabbit. The artist reflects the feelings of rabbits through her works. The works were mainly made with watercolors, also including usage of a lead-filled pen in few of the pieces.
The thesis considers awareness and capacity for empathy. With these perspectives, the artist wonders about the existence of the animals and the ease of humanization. The written part of the thesis also briefly contemplates the depiction of the animal in Finnish art. The artistic part deals with materials, working methods, the artist’s identification towards her pet rabbit, and a few of the pieces were examined in more detail.
